My Schoolguru Teacher App ("the App") is developed and operated by Maharishi Vidya Mandir Schools, Puducherry ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use the App.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following information from registered teaching staff:

• Personal Information: Name, staff ID, email address, mobile number, designation, department, and profile photo as registered in the school's HR system.
• Authentication Data: Encrypted password (bcrypt hash), 6-digit PIN, session tokens, and OTP verification logs.
• Device Information: Device type (web/android), Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token for push notifications.
• Usage Data: Login timestamps, last login device type.
• Professional Data: Attendance records, classwork entries, homework status, leave applications, training records, and task assignments as part of school operations.

3. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used exclusively for:

• Authenticating your identity and providing secure access to the App.
• Displaying your work-related information (attendance, timetable, tasks, etc.).
• Sending push notifications about school circulars, task assignments, leave approvals, and other operational updates.
• Enabling school administration to manage staff operations efficiently.

4. Data Storage & Security

• All data is stored on secure servers hosted with industry-standard security measures.
• Passwords are encrypted using bcrypt hashing and are never stored in plain text.
• Session tokens are generated using cryptographically secure random bytes.
• All communication between the App and server uses HTTPS (SSL/TLS) encryption.
• Firebase service account keys are stored outside the public web directory.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with any third parties except:

• Firebase (Google): FCM tokens are shared with Google Firebase for delivering push notifications. Google's privacy policy applies to this data.
• SMS Gateway: Your mobile number is shared with our SMS provider (Dial4SMS) solely for sending OTP verification codes.
• School Administration: Your professional data (attendance, classwork, etc.) is accessible to authorized school administrators as part of normal school operations.

6. Push Notifications

The App uses Firebase Cloud Messaging to send push notifications. You can disable notifications at any time through your device settings. Disabling notifications does not affect other App functionality.

7. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as you are an active staff member. Upon leaving the school, your account is deactivated. Historical records (attendance, classwork, etc.) may be retained for school records as required by educational regulations.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data through the App's Profile section.
• Request correction of inaccurate information through school administration.
• Request deletion of your account by contacting school administration.
• Opt out of push notifications through device settings.

9. Children's Privacy

This App is intended solely for school teaching staff and administrators. It is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through this App.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be communicated through the App or school channels. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
